BADGER HIGH SCHOOL (WI): ONE SCHOOL’S BRANDING STORY
by Coach & AD Magazine. March 2020
Badger’s administrative and athletic director team discussed potentially upgrading the portion of their facilities that was built in 1958. Since two other sections were significantly newer — having been built 10 and 20 years ago, respectively, modernizing the aesthetics of the older part was a goal they had prior to when the athletic director attended a convention.
When Jim Kluge, Badger’s athletic director, saw the graphics and capabilities that BigSigns. com showcased at the athletic directing convention he attended in 2019, Kluge knew that he wanted to work with their teams to bring the branding dream to fruition.
The first wave included graphics to cover ugly brown lockers, door skins on five doors, window clings and a welcome display at the sports center. “We’ve had lots of positive feedback. The community is pretty excited,” Kluge said. “This was an opportunity when we had some time and financial support (from the administrative team) to do a few things and see what it would look like.”
With those graphics, the older section of the school was brought into the 21st century, according to Kluge. The process started in the middle of November 2019, and the graphics were installed professionally on January 2, 2020. Kluge and the administrative team are currently planning the next wave of graphics that will be added to the building. “We’re looking forward to the process. The focus is bringing up the 1950s part of the building to be on par with the rest of the school. BigSigns.com will definitely play a big part in it,” Kluge said.
